TOPIC: BayAPLN Year in ReviewShare your thoughts on the past and future! Sharpen your retrospective skills! Join the Coordinating Committee in this hands-on experience or just come to observe and learn.
The purpose of this retrospective is to improve our capability to deliver on objectives and to provide a time to recount, honor and enjoy our efforts and accomplishments. We also follow agile practice by visiting our Charter at the beginning of each year and the best starting place is our set of learnings from the previous year. We invite you to bring an “artifact” of any kind (raffle prize, parking ticket, event flyer, mind map, Subway wrapper, photo, etc.) that reminds you of BayAPLN and to share your story with the group.
Agenda overview: • Review the Retrospective Purpose and Retrospective Prime Directive • Share Artifacts (start thinking about the past year) • Appreciations/Acknowledgements • Build the Timeline (collect data) • Mine the Timeline (find the learning) • Make Recommendations for Change and Create Action Items • Close
 Facilitated by Ainsley Nies.
Ainsley has been an innovator, synthesizer and leader for more than two decades in the people side of information systems work. As the principal of Acorn Consulting Enterprises, she facilitates retrospectives, trains retrospective facilitators, leads personal retrospective workshops and uses tools such as Open Space Technology and World Café to further inquiry and collaboration. Her passion is creating effective, supportive and appreciative environments for learning and continuous improvement, and working with individuals, organizations and communities who want to do the same.
Ainsley has worked as a software developer, project/program manager and internal consultant. While at HP she initiated the Agile and Retrospective SIGs and led the groups until corporate life lost its appeal. She is an Agile Open California founder and organizer, currently on the BayAPLN Coordinating Committee, PMI Agile CoP Leadership Team, Board President of the Computer Technologies Program (Berkeley) and AAUW Pacifica Branch President. She also has an MS in Counseling, PMP, CSM and various teaching credentials.
